Even Republicans Are Distancing Themselves…
…from Colorado State Representative Doug Bruce after comments he made on the floor of the Colorado State Assembly. The video speaks for itself, so here it is:
I wonder if it takes hard work and a lot of practice to become a bigot like Rep. Bruce, or if it just comes naturally.
EDIT: Just in case YouTube continue to remove videos of the incident, I’ll give a play by play. Rep. Bruce was speaking in opposition to a guest worker bill in the Colorado House, and during his remarks he said the last thing Colorado needs is 5,000 more illiterate peasants.

Zach, You Tube pulled the video. What did he say?
capper, try again, because I edited out the old video and put in one that works.
Much better. Thanks, Zach.
BTW, I just love your work!!
First Tancredo, now this clown.
Somebody needs to write a new book “What the hell is wrong with Colorado”.
The video was cut off too early. Do you know if there is more or was that it?
Well, I went looking for more of that video but they all seem to cut off at the same point. I really don’t think he should have been cut off. I would have liked to hear more of his argument. Had he not used “illiterate peasants” to describe non-immigrant Mexican seasonal workers he probably would have had a good point. We already have 12+ million illegal immigrants here in America that can do the work the non-immigrant Mexican seasonal workers would do, so why would they need this bill? I really don’t get it.
“Somebody needs to write a new book ‘What the hell is wrong with Colorado’.”
I’d do it myself, but it’d require a 30-volume treatise and I don’t have that kind of time.
good lord. maybe the second-last thing Colorado needs more of is ignorant plutocrats?
