Targeting Wisconsin Dems

Americans for Prosperity is targeting Democrats Tammy Baldwin of Madison and Dave Obey of Wausau. Ron Kind of La Crosse also is a target, though he has four scheduled listening sessions and one tele-town hall meeting starting Tuesday.

The opponents of healthcare reform will continue to exercise their freedom to speak out against ”the government takeover of healthcare.”  

 AFP is an organization of grassroots leaders who engage citizens in the name of limited government and free markets on the local, state and federal levels. The grassroots members of AFP advocate for public policies that champion the principles of entrepreneurship and fiscal and regulatory restraint.

Why do these groups always says what they stand for but then target things they are against? It isn’t because they are uneducated or foolish. So what is it? Can they not articulate a public policy of their own? The very idea of a free market for healthcare is absurd on the face of it. We license doctors, force people to see doctors to obtain prescriptions, have only doctor-authorized medical tests, and  medical equipment must be reviewed by the FDA for efficacy before it can be sold. Free market? Hardly.  And for good reasons, too.

I find it interesting that there are groups that organize grassroot leaders. ( Note to self: not  ’grass root leaders’)   Reminds me of  those ‘outside agitators’ in the 60s during the civil rights movement.  Or those union organizers in the 1920s and 30s. 

But in truth they are just community organizers  like President Barack  Obama once was.

Might as well call them Activists and get it over with.
