Well that’s not the statement Obama made when Wilson called him a liar but prove to me that Obama wasn’t lying about the statement when Wilson called him out. Everybody is whining about Wilson but nobody is defending Obama.
Obama isn’t being defended because he doesn’t need to be defended. He wasn’t the one who acted like a petulant child during a presidential address to the nation.
E, here’s what I’m wondering…would you be defending a Democrat the same way you’re defending Rep. Wilson if it had been a Democrat who called GWB a liar during one of his presidential addresses? I’m betting the answer is no, and there’s a word for what that makes you.
Yes I would defend that democrat if he was right. You seemed to think that conservatives just loved GWB….. We didn’t. We slammed him when he had it coming and we did it quite a bit. The democrats are following Obama like sheep without holding him accountable for anything he’s done. Can you honestly tell me you agree with everything Obama has done? Are you afraid to slam Obama when he’s wrong???? Obama did lie when he made this statement and I ask you to prove Wilson wrong. What Wison did was not a proper thing to do but neither was the booing of GWB in 05 but I haven’t heard one word about dems actions there.
Let’s just cut the hypocrisy of this event and get to the nuts and bolts of what caused it. Defend Obama….. He did not tell the truth…. You need to defend him.
What E said +1.
What an oversimplification, and one that is untrue. Obama is willing to work across the aisle? Then why hasn’t he brought any Republicans to the White House to discuss the issue since April? He and Pelosi continue to say the GOP has no plan, when in fact they do have many ideas. There is a lot both sides can agree on, but the Democrats have chosen to ignore that. Which is their right in a governing majority. Which begs the question, why can’t they pass a bill?!
EXACTLY!!! They’ve chosen to be completely partisan on this issue rather than going after the number of widely supported reforms. That is their right – elections mean some thing and the Democrats won a ton last November. But they don’t have the honesty to admit what they’re doing, or the courage of convictions to get it done.
Republicans have always been tagged (and often fairly so) of being fearmongers. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. “It’s absolutely critical we pass this stimulus package immediately or we’ll have a depression.” Only we still have only spent a tiny fraction of the money that was needed immediately. “We must pass this healcare reform plan now, or people will die.” Only it wouldn’t even begin to take effect until 2013 – which just so happens to be AFTER the next Presidential election.
