“Real Debate” really wants to encourage civility and respect!

Says the disclaimer at the top of “Real Debate” Wisconsin:

This is primarily a conservative blog but we always welcome input from all points of view. Things get heated upon occasion but we ask that our readers do their best to keep things civil and respect all participants.

As I’ve noted before, the folks at “Real Debate” are all about keeping things “civil and respectful,” especially when confronted with an opinion that differs from theirs.

The latest in what passes for “civil and respectful” debate over at “Real Debate” is a posted image of bumper art referencing Psalm 109, verse 8 with the words, “Pray for Obama”. For those of you who were wondering, Psalm 109, verse 8 states, “May his days be few; may another take his place of leadership.” Seems pretty benign, perhaps even referencing the hope that President Obama won’t be in office long, but as grumps pointed out over at Whallah!, verses 9 through 13 of Psalm 109 put verse 8 into the proper perspective:

9 May his children be fatherless
and his wife a widow.

10 May his children be wandering beggars;
may they be driven [d] from their ruined homes.

11 May a creditor seize all he has;
may strangers plunder the fruits of his labor.

12 May no one extend kindness to him
or take pity on his fatherless children.

13 May his descendants be cut off,
their names blotted out from the next generation.

Yep, clearly Fred Dooley’s promoting “civil and respectful” discussion over at “Real Debate.”
