Notre Dame fires Weis

It’s being reported the University of Notre Dame has fired head football coach Charlie Weis after yet another lackluster season in South Bend. Weis, who was supposed to be the savior of Notre Dame’s football program, left the team much the same as he got it, despite several strong recruiting classes. Weis’ buyout is rumored to be as much as $18 million.

As a fan of Notre Dame football, I’d love to see Cincinnati Bearcats head coach Brian Kelly as the next head football coach in South Bend, because I believe he’s got what it takes to turn Notre Dame back into a respected football program.
