Not surprisingly, Amy Jacobs Westlake has since removed her comment agreeing with a previous commenter’s assessment of Sen. Feingold as a turd, so it’s a good thing I did a screen capture before she edited out her comment.
So here’s what I’m wondering…does Dave Westlake agree with his wife’s assessment that Sen. Feingold is a “turd?”

I found that group, you’ve got to love blanket claims backed up by nothing like “Senator Russ Feingold was to be a representative for the people of Wisconsin and has failed to do so.”

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. Certainly not the type of thing you’d expect to hear from the wife of someone who wants to be a U.S. Senator, and it’s certainly telling that she’s subsequently removed the post from Facebook.
Zach…I don’t know if this is such a big deal. Being a wife…and having said some pretty stupid things myself…some of the things I’ve said would probably make my hubby scratch his head or roll his eyes…because he is definitely my better half…so…I’m not going to come down on Mrs. Westlake.
Not eloquently put and that’s why spouses of candidates should ordinarily be seen and not heard. But I think you do put a lot of emphasis on “the type of thing you expect to hear from the wife of someone who wants to be a Senator.” Would you give equal weight to what the candidates say about each other, which is often far worse? It is his wife, not the candidate himself. But since you bring up the wife, I wonder if Feingold’s former wives would agree with the “turd” sentiment.
I think I like her although I disagree with her. I can imagine her sitting there and seeing the other person’s comment. She pauses for a moment and then decides “Oh, what the heck.” She types her comment and adds the smiley face indicating that she finds it amusing that a grown man uses the simple word ‘turd’ to describe a seated U.S. Senator; a word that punctures the partisan and political posturing taking place.
Cheering a snowball thrower is not the same as throwing snowballs herself, in my opinion, but she should exercise caution with her comments, as all political spouses would probably advise her.

LOL…how many of us have had that same exact thought before making a really stupid comment?? Oh well…life does go on…
i think she is down to earth and not off the mark at all. i like real people not fake ones so he gets my vote on turds alone
