Milwaukee among 20 best places to do business

According to MarketWatch, the metro Milwaukee area was ranked as the 20th best place to do business. This is the third year in a row that Milwaukee has ranked in the top 20 of the annual survey of the 101 largest metropolitan areas, and Milwaukee was ranked higher than metro areas such as Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, and Chicago.

“I am very pleased MarketWatch has once again recognized Milwaukee as a great place to do business,” said Mayor Tom Barrett. “Despite the tough economic forces we all have to contend with, our collaborative efforts have remained focused on retaining and attracting companies. The recent announcement by Republic Airways to add 800 jobs here is evidence that our efforts are paying dividends for the City and the region.”

So much for Milwaukee being a terrible place to do business.
