Feingold starts 2010 with $3 million cash on hand
Senator Russ Feingold’s campaign released its fundraising numbers yesterday, ahead of the reporting deadline for the final quarter of 2009. Some interesting facts about Sen. Feingold’s fundraising:
- The Feingold Campaign finished 2009 strong with over $3.65 million cash on hand.
- Our average contribution over the cycle is $50.
- In the 4th quarter of 2009 alone, the campaign raised over $947,000.
- Senator Feingold’s campaign has received contributions from people in each of Wisconsin’s 72 counties.
- The Feingold Campaign opened offices in La Crosse, Eau Claire, Hudson and Downtown Madison in January. These join the Green Bay office opened last August, as well as the Milwaukee and Middleton offices that have remained open since the 2004 campaign.
Sen. Feingold issued a statement on his fundraising numbers, saying, “While I’m focused on listening to the people of Wisconsin, and not a campaign 10 months away, I’m honored to have such grassroots support from across our state.”
The fact that Sen. Feingold has been able to raise nearly three times more money than his next closest opponent, Terrence Wall, speaks volumes about the support Sen. Feingold still enjoys here in Wisconsin. I’m willing to bet Dave “T-Shirt” Westlake pulled in no more than $10,000 during the same time period, while we all know Terrence Wall raised less money from outside donors than the amount he loaned to his campaign.

Last time I checked, Tommy Thompson wasn’t running for the U.S. Senate, and Rasmussen has a tendency to underpoll Democrats.
