On Friday I noted Democratic State Treasurer candidate Dan Bohrod has come under scrutiny for a press release he emailed to a number of state legislators at their state-provided email addresses. The press release was also lacking the “Authorized and paid for by….” disclaimer, and attorney Michael Maistelman filed a complaint with the state Government [...]
Back in September 2009, Republican U.S. Senate candidate Terrence Wall opined, “We have the best health care system in the world,” in reference to the American health care system, and while the American health care system certainly isn’t terrible, it’s far from perfect. Putting aside the millions of Americans who don’t have health insurance coverage [...]
Scott Walker the gubernatorial candidate says, “I’m going to create 250,000 new jobs in Wisconsin,‘ while Scott Walker the Milwaukee County Executive says, “See ya…wouldn’t wanna be ya!” to the 76 Milwaukee County employees he handed pink slips to on Friday.
I guess this means Scott Walker will now have to create 250,076 jobs.
From the emailbox comes news that on Sunday, March 7th at 4:00 p.m., Democratic gubernatorial candidate Tom Barrett will hold a live video chat so Wisconsin’s voters can share their thoughts and ideas with him.
To submit an idea or question for Tom on his live video chat, feel free to visit www.barrettforwisconsin.com/asktom.
Remember how excited conservatives were when Republican Scott Brown was elected to the U.S. Senate in Massachusetts? Folks in the Tea Party hailed Brown’s election as a sign of tremendous voter discontent with the status quo, and Brown’s victory was hailed as a victory for all those small government Tea Party folks.
Clearly, that enthusiasm [...]
Though I wasn’t alive when JFK ran for president, I’ve heard the anecdotes that many were concerned that JFK’s Catholicism would override his duty to uphold the Constitution, and that he’d taking his marching orders from the Vatican. Fast forward 50 years, and Republican U.S. Senate candidate Terrence Wall seems to be perfectly content forming [...]
Democrat Dan Bohrod, who’s challenging incumbent Democrat Dawn Marie Sass in the State Treasurer’s race, might be in a bit of trouble, if this letter from attorney Michael Maistelman is any indication. Maistelman, who represents Treasurer Sass, alleged Bohrod’s campaign has communicated with individuals at their government offices in violation of Wis. Stats. § 11.36. [...]
Best way to guarantee a financially stress-free retirement in Wisconsin?
“Work for the government,” writes Kathleen Gallagher of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Gallagher goes on to note state public employees, such as public school teachers and state and city workers, receive hundreds of dollars per month more (on average) in retirement than higher-paid employees in [...]
Here’s a few highlights from the made-for-TV health care summit held at the White House yesterday: For my money, the highlight of the health care summit were the comments made by Democratic Congresswoman Louise Slaughter of New York: Following the summit, Sen. Russ Feingold issued a statement on the summit itself and health insurance reform: [...]
Watch as Republican U.S. Senate candidate Terrence Wall, appearing on WVCY’s “In Focus,” explains how the earth’s climate has been changing for “billions of years,” only to turn around and change his mind when confronted by a caller who clearly disapproves of what he believes to be Wall’s “evolutionist” views and Wall’s hypocrisy on the [...]
