GOP “Fear-Gate” Generates Further Pushback
Last week the Republican National Committee showcased its “fear” campaign as evidenced by the presentation RNC Finance Director Bob Bickert gave at a $2,500/head retreat of major donors and fundraisers in Boca Grande, FL. The presentation was inadvertently left behind and managed to end up in the political headlines after Politico released it on March 3rd. The presentation showcased their insulting strategy of using fear to rope in their small uninformed donor as evidenced by this slide:
The “party of no” showed its true colors by touting fear as the main selling point against the Democratic Party. Instead of having a positive agenda with a platform based on improving the country and the lot of average Americans, they jump on the Tea Party philosophy of “be very afraid”. As a further examples of this treachery, this slide shows their attack machine in place with juvenile, demonizing attacks on Obama, Pelosi and Reid.
Several Republican leaders have tried to distance themselves from the presentation including Steele, McConnell and Hatch, but the damage has been done with this showcase of their true philosophy regardless of their impotent denials. To misquote Shakespeare – “Methinks thou doth protest too much”.
The DNC has jumped on the political damage and released a new ad attacking the GOP for their use of fear as a political tactic and their lack of ideas for the country.

Looks like they got the DNC to utter the word “socialism.” Mission accomplished. And by the way, all of these DNC ads that you are so fond of posting — do they actually run these ridiculous ads anywhere or are the ads just put up on their website and blogs like these to make yourselves feel good?
You want to talk about fear? How about Dems preaching fear and overreacting to the Bush administration listening in on all of your phone conversations? Or that we are all going to die if we don’t pass a government health plan this instant? Dems preach plenty of fear buddy.
Thanks for the comment my friend. Always good to hear your perspectives. Nice to have a divergent voice reminding us of the disaster that was the Bush administration – torture, listening in on American phone calls, tax cuts for the wealthy, massive deficits, 2 interminable wars, standards of living declining, etc. etc….
