A sure sign Ron Johnson’s in trouble…
If you’re Ron Johnson, how do you know your campaign’s in trouble?
When the folks at RedState.com have nothing but bad things to say about you:
While there is not much known about the candidate for Senate on the Republican side in WI, Ron Johnson, there is ONE very shameful and disgusting thing that rises to the top of contemptible behavior for this Conservative. Ron Johnson in his gig as a part of the Green Bay Diocese’s Finance Council
Ouch…

ouch
Most of the people commenting on it disagree with the diary though, and so do I. Unless public school districts are to be covered in the same way as Catholic dioceses, the bill should not pass.
If there was no abuse going on in public schools, then school districts should have nothing to fear in being covered under the bill. If there was, those victims deserve justice too.
Abuse of students in public schools generally comes out soon after it happens. And generally the abuser is dealt with via the legal system. The Catholic Church can literally put the fear of God into the abused to keep them quiet and can run a well organized interference of denial to the public and transfer of the abusers. Individual school districts don’t have the same ‘clout’ so to speak.
Seems to me like Jade over at Red State seems to be ONE voice, trying to BEAT one single drum, and admits she’s a Westlake supporter, in one of her follow-ups. I don’t know Jade and can’t testify to his/her other writings. But My take is this is clearly another example of Anti-Catholic attitude bleeding into this campaign. Being a long time Conservative i have heard these arguments for years. JFK’s slim win based on capturing the Catholic vote in the 60′s has been a long time wandering back into the “Conservative camp”. Yet for some reason the former “Moral Majority”, and the present Fundamentalists seem to think they own the “Conservative” label and still want to fight the 500 year old battle over the power of the “Mother church”.
It seems long past time to segregate Catholics and Mormons based on their different takes on Christianity. Fact is the US has more Catholics than ANY other single religious group and virtually all of them are under the Single Roman Church. Not everyone agrees with all the teachings but self ID is a strong moniker. I urge those Fundamentalists to accept those allies on things political; including atheists. as long as they wish to move towards a limited Govt. I suspect “Jade” is using this as sideswipe on Johnson for the benefit of Westlake.
No more does her single article reflect a division with in the TEA Party or the Conservative movement, than my response here. I suspect “Jade” and I agree on most things, but I shall watch for future postings.
One voice?

Not quite.
Yeah Zach;
Thanks for pointing that out. Took a few minutes to read several posts and commentaries posted by “Pompadour”, very consistent with one of Dave Westlakes inside team. Pretty sure I know who it is. “Pomp” is entitled to his/her opinion of course and I suspect she/he and I will both vote for Johnson, to avoid another 6 years of Feingold. Alas there are a few sticklers who refuse to read the writing on the wall. (Pomp the rogue, is one them I’m pretty sure).
The same folks who had a fit when Thompson was offered to speak at the Tax Day Tea Party are the very same Westlake Dead-enders..who would rather try to fenistrate the Johnson campaign, so that a broke, candidate can limp past the Primary vote. and then be crushed under Feingold, and the Dems Money. Plan “B” is to eviscerate Johnson and hobble him so they can claim a pyrrhic victory in the primary loss of Westlake, and then get to sit and be pissed as Feingold wins. I’m of the mindset that most of those in attendance at the convention. Get behind the guy who can win. 10 in 2010, is our goal, we need Wisconsin to make it happen. So Pompadour, get on board and let’s win. Stop with the sour grapes. Dave this is not directed at you! But your inner circle are delusional. They are feeding your ego I’m sure..but Dave you’ve been a pretty classy dude, get out before you turn into Mark Neumann…the guy we used to like!
Side note to Zach…Several people in my building were using my sign e-mail. I don’t care if you don’t. I’ll use MY ID “Urban Pioneer” for my points. Thanks for the great place to have discussions. My commentary is usually frank, occasionally sarcastic, and I always attempt to be factual. But no malice towards any individual is ever intended.
