  1. Who isn’t remembering Aug 28 its once again the liberals who are making it a dividing issue. But if not for a divide country liberalism would be dead. So how long before one of the ‘progressives’ here use the liberal catch phrase for the 2010 election, racism.

Americans have a dream a dream that America will be rescued from the evil idealism of liberalism and bring God, family and love of country back into everyday life.

    1. So wait…..are you trying to say liberals don’t believe in God, family, and love of country?

If that’s what you’re trying to say, that has to be one of the most asinine things I’ve ever heard.

    2. Are you trying to say atheists are not Americans?

More than anything else the threat of right wing theocracy scares me.

  2. Whats even more hysterical is that the racist Rev. Al Sharpton and other civil rights advocates to organize counter-events AFTER they learned about Becks rally. It’s funny the racist Al was not worried about Aug 28 until AFTER the fact. Shows his hate and bigotry for America.

  3. Glen Beck as every right to rally in Washington DC on any day of the year he can get a permit. Or do only Muslims have every right to build what they want where they want in spite of what happened in the past?

How someone stands on both of these issues is very telling about how they interpret the Constitution or view freedom in general.

    1. I think what Glenn Beck says is far more offensive than the day he does it. I can’t wait for his full implosion of craziness. The day is coming.

    2. I don’t recall writing that Glenn Beck shouldn’t have been allowed to hold his rally today; I simply opined that today should best be remembered for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I have a dream speech.”

  4. There was absolutely nothing racist or disrespectful during this entire gathering. I am not even a big Beck fan. I turned the tv on out of curiosity and ended up watching most of it. They all spoke of love, honor, faith and prayer. They prayed for service people and our nation. If anyone tries to spin this, it is out of their OWN fear and hate.

    1. The parts of the rally I did watch (I’ll admit I didn’t watch the whole thing), I’d have to agree; I didn’t hear or see anything racist.

Funny thing is, the only person who mentioned racism in this thread was Notalib.

      1. If there’s nothing racist with the rally, then what’s the problem. I agree that 8/28 should be remembered for the great speech by MLK, but does that mean we are allowed to do nothing else? Clearly the title shows that you are not just saying that today should be remembered for MLK, but that you have a problem with Beck’s rally, even though now you admit there’s nothing wrong with it.

      2. Notalib isn’t the only one to mention racism. Not even close. Liberal talkers like Mike Malloy are too. Malloy said that today’s rally couldn’t possibly not erupt in violence. He also said, “From Martin Luther King, Jr’s historic “I Have A Dream” speech to the rise of the NeoCons who gave us the likes of Glenn Beck, who will now metaphorically trash that momentous event 47 years later. . . When it comes to Bush, Beck, and most of the other Fox ‘News’ Conservatives in this country they’d just as soon return to the days Jim Crow and we all know it.”

          1. Zach How are you feeling after your accident? I hope you are healing well and not in pain 🙂
