The Cheddarbomb was a huge success!

On Wednesday, Sen. Russ Feingold’s campaign launched a one-day “Cheddarbomb” designed to raise money from 15,000 grassroots donors to counter the $15 million of his own personal wealth Ron Johnson has pledged to pour into his effort to defeat Sen. Feingold, and according to a report in the Huffington Post, the “Cheddarbomb” was a huge success, netting $435,971 from more than 15,000 donors in just one day. Sen. Feingold’s “Cheddarbomb” was aided by an aggressive e-mail solicitation push by several other senators, as well as an aggressive push from lefty bloggers here in Wisconsin, including yours truly. Lefty bloggers from across the Cheddarsphere raised more than $10,000 for Sen. Feingold’s “Cheddarbomb,” no small sum, to be sure.

While Sen. Feingold’s “Cheddarbomb” has ended, you can still donate to his campaign, because every little bit certainly helps, especially against Ron Johnson, who’s made it clear he’ll spend every last nickel he has in order to beat Sen. Feingold.

  1. Wisconsin Senate: Johnson (R) 51% Feingold (D) 44%

After a decisive win in Tuesday’s Republican Primary, businessman
Ron Johnson now holds a seven-point lead over incumbent Democrat Russ Feingold in Wisconsin’s U.S. Senate race.

Better get ready to actually finding a real job now Russ….not sure but I think you are under qualified even for Walmart greater.

  2. It’s absolutely comical, this portrayal of Feingold as the underdog, the little engine that could. He’s raised $17 million this campaign cycle for crying out loud.

And the whole, “poor guy” and “average Wisconsinite” too. He has pension that will pay him about $140,000 for the rest of his life. By the way, how the heck is someone who makes $174,000 only worth $200,000? Where is it going? One way or another, he’s spending well over $100 grand a year – I’m pretty sure that puts him at a higher standard of living then most Wisconsinites.

You like the guy, that’s great. You agree with his politics – more power to you. But don’t portray him as some pauper, just scraping by, desperate for campaign donations. It’s just laughable.

  3. I’m impressed w/ Sen. Feingold’s ability to raise money from individuals so quickly. I have a feeling those poll numbers are going to look very different after the first debate.

    1. It may have been dubbed the Cheddarbomb but I am betting with all those other Senators putting out solicitations, plenty of that was out-of-state cheese. Maybe some came from those California cows who are so darn happy all the time.

So Ash, I wouldn’t be too impressed when you consider those numbers are nationwide. Would be curious to see what the in-state numbers were.
