Kind of a curious sight….a Dan Sebring for Congress sign outside a boarded up drug house in the City of Milwaukee:

I’m not sure which voting bloc Dan Sebring is hoping to court, but that sure seems like a curious place to put a yard sign.

Ed. Note: According to Dan Sebring, neither he nor anyone from his campaign placed one of his yard signs at the house in the above photo.

If you look around the 7th SD, specifically in the 21st AD, many MANY foreclosed homes have yard signs for some of our Republican friends. Probably not the list of best campaign practices.

  2. Bob Smith says:

Awfully judgemental there aren’t you? You know this to be a drug house because…

  3. Notalib says:

And you also know it was put their by a supporter and not some kids who are out stealing signs (or Democrats who may have done the same)

  4. Locke says:

I’d say curious is the right word – it’s certainly a bit strange and maybe a bit amusing in a schadenfreude sort of way – assuming it is in fact a drug house (no link or source in anyway always makes me skeptical though).

But to put a larger point on what Nota was getting at…I think as a general rule, it’s rather foolish to draw any conclusions from a yard sign somewhere. There’s just so much screwing around and even outright vandalism that goes on with them you just really have no idea what the true story is.

I would say unequivocally that the actual candidate is the last person I’d suggest has anything to do with it.

  5. Michael S. Murphy says:

Maybe the former homeowner placed this out front after he was forced to vacate his home because he no longer could afford his mortgage and keep up with the heavy tax burden placed upon him by Socialists like Gwen Moore?

  6. mike says:

I don’t know that it’s a drug house ,it could be someone lost there job andd couldn’t afford payments. If gween would spent more time helping the people of her distrist may be you would not assume it’ a drug house

  7. Tom says:

It’s probably Zach’s house – that’s how he’s able to know so much about it.

  8. Tom says:

Gee Zach, I noticed that you used to have Paul Morel’s name on your “contribute” section and now it’s back to Gwen. Funny how you’ve said that Gwen isn’t your favorite person yet you try to fundraise for her – just remember she gets her money from PACs and out-of-staters, not the people she actually represents. And funnier still is Paul had similar positions as Dan on the real issues facing America and you supported Paul.

You really are one fucked up person. But then again, that’s why this city is screwed up, because morons like you don’t know what the hell you want.

    • Zach says:

Gee Tom, you’re just full of insults today. What, nothing intelligent to add?

    • Zach says:

And for what it’s worth, I’m still not Gwen Moore’s greatest fan, but she’s certainly better than the alternative. It’s true I did try to help Paul Morel raise money, because I felt he deserved a chance to provide voters with an alternative to Gwen Moore.

      • Ken says:

Yes. Why would we want to stop the destruction of our liberty, soveriegnty and prosperity?

Life will be so much better when government owns and controls everthing, and every aspect of our lives.

Just a thought Zach, if you like socialism so well, why not do a trial run in any of the numerous socialist countries out there? Cuba is only a 90 mile swim.

        • Zach says:

Ken, don’t put words in my mouth. I don’t recall ever saying – or writing – that life would be better if government owned and controlled everything.

          Nice try though!

  9. Proud Progressive says:

I dont thinK zach drew any conclusions…he just said it was a curious place for a yard sign. Which it is. But since everyone else is jumping to conclusions I will also:

Maybe he cant afford the gas to mow his lawn because the reagan stopped enforcing the Sherman anti-trust act and now the oil company congolmerates have a monopoly on the market. Maybe he also lost his job due to outsourcing since the republicans just blocked the bill that would have helped stop giving tax breaks to companies for sending jobs over seas. Maybe the sign in the yard is there because he lost his job to China, and the sign is code that Sebring wants some of that Chamber of Commerce money that foreign terrorists are funneling through them to end American democracy. Maybe he figures that the terrorist money is helping RoJo and Sean Duffy so much he needs some of it also!
