The Pope just got uninvited from the “tea party”

While Cardinal Josef Ratzinger, he was very conservative and old school in his philosophy. Ratzinger even went so far as to advise US Bishops to deny communion to John Kerry during the 2004 election season.

Recently he took a turn to the left, with a speech on health care for all. His speech was aimed at the US and the invasion of the \"tea party\".

“It is necessary to work with greater commitment at all levels so that the right to health is rendered effective, favoring access to primary health care,” Benedict said in a message on Thursday to the 25th annual conference of the Vatican office that promotes health care ministry.

“Health justice should be among the priorities of governments and international institutions,” he added.

The pope said that establishing this goal requires “a true distributive justice that guarantees to all, on the basis of objective needs, adequate care,” and, “The social doctrine of the Church has always evidenced the importance of distributive justice and of social justice in the different sectors of human relations.”

  1. Dad29 will post that the Pope is lying about the nature of the Church, and that we should Buy More Ammo, because that’s what Jesus and Mary want us to do.

  2. Wondering where the secular liberals are on this one, harping about separation of church and state.

    1. The Pope has made it clear that he does not understand anything about American politics and should just shut up. If he wants to talk to the US Bishops about their role in the recent catastrophe for the future of the social safety net, he can, but it is clear that their fetus worship will mean the rest of their words are hollow.

They should have stayed out. They need to stay out. They are too arrogant to stay out.

      1. They understand what separation means, they just don’t approve. They need the government to help subsidize their churches.

  3. Why didn’t he think about it before he let the US Conference of Bishops become a one-note-johnny on abortion rights? Joseph Ratzinger helped to set the stage for those who want to destroy the social safety net in the United States. He owes us another apology.

  4. Considering the Church’s decades long history of harboring pedophiles, I’d say the phrase “true distributive justice” should be taken with a grain of salt.

This message approved for those on a low sodium diet.

  5. Well, he’s right about health care being a universal right, and when you combine it with what he said this week re: condoms, he’s probably the most liberal pope ever. But then, it’s only taken 2000 years to get to hear the pope mention “prostitutes” and “moral” in the same sentence…
Nice post, my friend. Short, sharp and straight-shooting. No BS here! Love it.
