Oh…definitely my family…being a mom. There’s so much I am thankful for but being a mom tops my list!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family Zach!

I am thankful for my family and friends, I love being a dad, I am thankful to be alive after the summer I had, I am thankful that Zach gives me this forum to share my thoughts and ideas, I am thankful for all who read and comment on them, I am thankful the Bears are in first place, thankful it has not snowed yet and thankful we have the internet to see pictures like the one Zach found!

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I am thankful for my freedom of speech, for discovering progressive blogs like this one, for my wonderful boyfriend who is cooking for me [!!!], for my son, for my improving health, and that I am writing again. Wishing all blessings, warm meals, and full tummies.

I’m thankful for a lot of things. The fact I have a job, the fact my grandfather is all right after breaking his leg, I’m pretty glad that I actually got a pretty good turkey and it I didn’t over cook it, and of course I am thankful for this. It gives me faith in humanity as a whole.

I’m agnostic, as in I am neither religious nor claim there is no God, so from my perspective I’m very thankful. I look at our fellow animals that are so similar to what we are and I am very thankful not only that I am so fortunate to have a wonderful family and a relatively stable situation, despite personal issues, and not only that I was born into one of the most free countries in the world, and not only that I was born and live in an area with relatively mind natural disaster risk, and not only that I have relatively good health, but that I’m thankful to have even been born human. Looking objectively, this sense of self I have could easily have been born into a cat, a horse, or any number of other beings of lesser intelligence than human kind.

That’s a very philosophical (and perhaps strange to most people) perspective, but I am very thankful for many things, and I always try to be thankful for how fortunate I am. Even as a human I could have been born in so many worse places, or into so many worse situations… and when I consider even being born as an animal… I think I’ve been quite lucky to have this life.
