Congratulations are in order

To take a step off my pro-worker soapbox for a minute, I’d just like to congratulate a few candidates who finished well enough in their respective primaries yesterday to move on to April’s general election.

Jason Haas, a great friend, finished second in the primary for seat representing Milwaukee County’s 14th supervisory district, meaning he’ll move on to face arch-conservative “Tea Party” candidate Steve Kraeger in April’s general election.

I’d also like to congratulate Chris Abele, who will also be moving on to April’s general election, where he’ll face Jeff “another term of Scott Walker” Stone to determine who will serve as the next Milwaukee County Executive.

As I write this, it’s still too close to call whether Ed Heinzelman will move on to face Meagan Holman in the general election in the MPS 8th district race, though it certainly appears he will, as he holds a slim lead over Candy Jo Lesniewski.

  1. Sometime soon, someone will need to explain to me what the big deal is about Abele.

We now have Stone, who wants to finish what Walker started by destroying Milwaukee County. Or Abele who apparently wants the same but won’t say as much.

    1. Chris, I’ve talked to Abele, and he made it pretty clear to me that his intention is not to destroy Milwaukee County.

  2. On the school board race, they’ve called it for Candy Jo Lesniewski over Ed Heinzelman. Sorry, Ed, and thank you for your service as a candidate! I hope we will see you back in these parts again soon.

  3. Congratulations Jason & good luck in the general.

Ed – much respect for putting yourself out there, sorry it didn’t work out. But welcome back 🙂
