Glenn Beck thinks A.J. Hawk and Brett Keisel are unpatriotic

On his radio show yesterday, Glenn Beck focused his outrage and indignation at members of both the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers for not putting their hands over their hearts during the National Anthem, saying, “Some of them were just like hanging on their jerseys some of them were just talking. It’s the national anthem.”

Clearly Glenn Beck was referring to Green Bay Packers linebacker A.J. Hawk and Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman Brett Keisel, neither of whom had their hands over their hearts, as a quick look at some video of the National Anthem shows:

  1. Glenn Beck is an IDIOT!
But,… here, this liberal agrees with him!
To see these clowns smirking and goofing off during our national anthem is embarrassing.
I think Jerry Jones and the NFL need to stop showing the crowd on the big screen during the anthem.

    Its about respect!

  2. Hyper-patriotism to the point of going after others for “not being patriotic enough” always bothers me. I’ve said the same in response to attacks for right wing people hanging flags wrong, etc. I’m proud of my country, but I’m not so ultra-nationalistic that it’s going to ruin my day that someone did not properly follow a custom.

  3. Brett is a family member of mine and I just want to clear some things up here. My entire family, Brett included, is incredibly patriotic. Brett’s dad is a veteran, his Uncles are veterans. We’ve all been instilled with a sense of patriotism and it is insulting to hear otherwise. Please don’t judge off of one screw up during the National Anthem.
