Rep Gordon Hintz D-Oshkosh tells it like it is

I love this video of Representative Gordon Hintz Democrat of Oshkosh calling out the Assembly GOP for their lack of transparency and lack of respect during the 144 page Walker budget repair bill after they voted 3 minutes before 5 to pass the bill while the Democrats were absent and en route to the floor.

We need to see more of this type of speech from our elected Democrats.

  1. I have much more respect for these reps who showed up for work to tell it like it is (as they see it) than their Senate counterparts. This is how it is done.

    1. You are sounding like a broken record, forgot. Our State Senators are showing up for work in IL. That’s where we want them to stay and fight for our rights.

      1. They can’t fight for anything when they aren’t even in the state.

Even CNN thinks y’all have lost it…”The left is freaking out over Wisconsin”:
        http://www.cnn.com/2011/OPINION/02/21/avlon.wisconsin.unions/index.html?eref=mrss_igoogle_cnn

“Democrats found themselves in the minority, so they have embraced the logic of the cowardly knights in ‘Monty Python and the Holy Grail’ — ‘Run Away!’ A critical mass are now hiding out of state.”

    2. Do you have more respect for the reps. who voted to approve the budget repair bill 5 minutes before they told Democrats they’d vote?

    3. You will of course call out every Senator and Assemblyperson who ever misses a floor vote from here on out, correct?

      1. Missing a floor vote and holding hostage the entire Legislature are two very different things. One is an absence, one is denying the will of a duly-elected majority.

        1. Now you are exaggerating…they are only holding up one bill in the Senate as Senator Fitzgerald pointed out yesterday…and that the Senate is ready to take up other business in the meantime. And the Assembly can conduct whatever business they want.

otoh: an absence is an absence.

  2. Why has this suddenly vanished? Just goes to show you what is happening with “freedom of information” huh?

  3. Gosh, Dustin, this must mean that all the protesters and various organizations opposing the Walker/Koch/Fitzgerald assault on the very social fabric of Wisconsin, (for a great, great many years to come), are entirely misguided.

Thanks for bringing such stunning clarity and insight into this profoundly disturbing and unequivocally unjust misadventure.

    1. Nah, it just means that people in the pockets of the unions seem okay with having their hands in other pockets as well. If you feel it’s okay to spend taxpayers money on unions in order to have them elect you, the moral compass is pretty askew anyway. Running off to Illinois is just another example. Don’t do the will of the people who voted, just advance the causes of those who pay you the most.

We knew what these guys were all along, and now we know the price as well.

      1. “Running off to Illinois is just another example. Don’t do the will of the people who voted…”

My Democratic Senator is doing exactly what he should be doing…and I voted for him!

        1. If that’s such a good idea, Republican should have done that for EVERY Doyle budget. Would have saved us all a lot of pain and suffering.

Hope you like your Senator representing your interests down there in Illinois when the Senate starts passing non-fiscal bills like voter ID.

If they never come back, Walker has no choice but to cut jobs, which is exactly what we were all trying to avoid. Thanks Senate Democrats!

      2. I think that Gov. Walker does in fact have some other choices and one of them has been clearly articulated by any number of sources in public and in the media.

        1. No there is no other choice, state unions have become PAC’s and they need to be stripped of their powers. If they had stayed UNIONS and not become PAC’s this would not have had to happen.

            1. Knew that one would get you……but yes first it is about balancing the budget but sadly this can’t be done while unions THINK they have power and control. If the unions were honest about helping the people would not be demanding this action but we all know we cannot trust unions to do whats best for everyone the only people they care about are themselves.

                1. Not talking abut the AFL-CIO we are talking about the STATE UNIONS, and you keep tossing out Kochs as if that means anything to anyone, I guess I will just start putting Soros in all of my post it will be as relevant.

                  1. Because non of the unions here are affiliated with afl-cio?? Throw soros name out there, as long as you can point to the millions he gave to get scott walker elected like we can with the kochs

                    1. They DID? well good for them, its nice to be able to offset the millions the state workers give to the democratic party in this state every election. Did not say there are not no AFL-CIO union members in this state, just said they are the ones that matter not the out of staters that the unions have been using to terrorize people at the capitol the last week.

  4. Folks, you’re wasting time with these people. Clearly they are GOP operatives who are blogging talking points. You are trying to rationalize with automatons mouthing the GOP agenda. Why is the video down again? What is going on.

    1. most of the names here are regulars…although several of them seldom stray from the party line…they aren’t unwelcome.

  5. People in the pockets of unions is funny. HA HA HA HA HA HOO HOOO HO. That is just SOOOOOOOOO funny. ROFLMAO. HA HA hA HA HA …. HEE HEe> stop you are killing me. People in th epockets of unions. Like there are any unions left, or will be left. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

  6. State Rep. Gordon Hintz (D) of Oshkosh earlier this month is connected to a prostitution investigation involving an Appleton massage parlor, Heavenly Touch Massage Parlor, 342 W. Wisconsin Ave

Another upstanding leader of the democratic party.

    1. I’d much rather have someone paying to get screwed then paying to be screwed as we are with the GOP clowns in office.

Democrats don’t go around moralizing about sexuality, that is the sole province of the “stunted in development” and hypocritical holy rollers running the GOP. These charlatans have hoodwinked a portion of the masses with their false piety while they continue to get theirs outside the home – both sexually and even more importantly by sticking their fat greedy fingers into our pockets while proclaiming their high moral values.

      1. Sexuality has nothing to do with it. What is alledged against him happens to be illegal. You remember the law, don’t you? Maybe you don’t, since enough teachers and doctors have disregarded all rules this week.

        1. forgot…I won’t defend Rep. Hintz if he is found guilty in court but until then he is innocent…just like everyone else.

        2. I’m not going to go there, but I would think the Oshkosh police could find something better to do. Maybe they are trying to earn their keep as part of the acceptable “Gestapo-like” unions that Walker and his pals are happy to see get all the goodies.

          1. First you said you weren’t going there and then you went there…let the legal stuff play itself out…and maybe by not going there you meant you weren’t going to go to Oshkosh…and maybe it’s best that you don’t.

            1. Kinda reminded me of why I don’t listen to Jim Rome – only 100 times worse. Rome will insist he’s not going to go there and spend the next hour not going there.

I actually wasn’t going to go there either – actually was annoyed that I wasted my time reading the thread and was going to make a comment about kettles & pots, but I decided not to go there. 🙂

Sucked in by my need to take a shot at Rome. Oh well, never claimed to be perfect – sometimes my better angels get beat.

  7. Really? then why have additional police been posted at the capitol today, has nothing to do with the protesters getting into peoples faces who are trying to get to there offices, has nothing to do with the pictures of the republicans they have posted so others know who to single out, no there has been no terrorizing by union agitators at all.

    1. This is an example of why I ridicule you Notalib. You refuse to accept Madison police reports of almost no trouble in Madison. You insist on repeating crap about union agitators “terrorizing” people.

Making terrorist threats is a crime. The Madison/Dane County police have not investigated any such thing, in fact, they report remarkably peaceful protests in spite of unprecedented numbers. They’re handing out hot dogs and coffee to protesters, for Christ’ sake.

You invite ridicule, so I oblige you. Have it your way.

  8. If you are in Madison today be sure to thank a protesting teacher for the quality education they provide.

Two-thirds of the eighth graders in Wisconsin public schools cannot read proficiently according to the U.S. Department of Education, despite the fact that Wisconsin spends more per pupil in its public schools than any other state in the Midwest.

In the National Assessment of Educational Progress tests administered by the U.S. Department of Education in 2009—the latest year available—only 32 percent of Wisconsin public-school eighth graders earned a “proficient” rating while another 2 percent earned an “advanced” rating. The other 66 percent of Wisconsin public-school eighth graders earned ratings below “proficient,” including 44 percent who earned a rating of “basic” and 22 percent who earned a rating of “below basic.”

    1. Have you ever heard of parents? If all those parents would start working with their kids we wouldn’t have this problem…

  9. Someone needs to tell Rep. Gordon Hintz (D-Oshkosh) that not every story has a happy ending, although he probably learned that the moment the cops burst through the door.

    1. Someone needs to tell Roland Melnick that his input does not border on irrelevant, but rather wanders well beyond the other side of pointless. Who wants the job? I’ll do it if no one else will.

  10. Funniest thing I saw so far was when a tv reporter was doing a story and teachers, hired union thugs, lazy college students and outside agitators surrounded this person and started to scream “tell the truth, tell the truth” this coming from “professionals who use phony doctor excuses to avoid doing their job of teaching, even if they are failures.

    1. And they were all conveniently wearing identification tags so you’d know which were thugs, students, or outsiders?

What else would I expect from someone who hides behind an anonymous label on this board…
