Courtesy of the fine folks at One Wisconsin Now and xoff’s blog comes this juicy little nugget. Back when Gov. Scott Walker was trying to explain that his proposed changes to collective bargaining for public employee unions were absolutely NOT an attempt to break those unions but were in fact necessary to address fiscal issues, [...] After convening a hastily scheduled conference committee, Republicans in the legislature were able to undo 50 years of collective bargaining rights for Wisconsin’s public employees, with Republicans in the State Senate voting 18-1 to approve gutting collective bargaining rights for public employees after those provisions were split from Gov. Scott Walker’s so-called budget “repair” proposal. [...] Or else I am taking my Gavel and going home. After a few seconds of Leah Vukmir spouting talking points, much to the dismay of their constituents, Sensenbrenner Had enough of the plebes and grabbed his gavel and went home.
