Justice David Prosser calls Chief Justice Abrahamson a “b–ch”

Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice David Prosser, who in announcing his reelection campaign promised to protect the Supreme Court’s conservative judicial majority and act as a “common sense compliment” to both the Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s administration, as well as the Republican-controlled legislature, has landed himself in the middle of a controversy after it was revealed he referred to Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson as a “bitch” in emails and interviews (emphasis mine):

Prosser acknowledged the incident recently and said he thought it was becoming public now in an attempt to hurt him politically. Prosser faces Assistant Attorney General JoAnne Kloppenburg in the April 5 election.

He said the outburst came after Abrahamson took steps to undermine him politically and to embarrass him and other court conservatives.

“In the context of this, I said, ‘You are a total bitch,’ ” Prosser said.

It’s simply galling to me that a man in Justice Prosser’s position would call a co-worker a bitch and then blame that co-worker for “goading” him into calling her that, as if he lacks the self-control to conduct himself in a manner befitting a sitting Justice on the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

What I find most interesting about Justice Prosser calling Chief Justice Abrahamson a bitch is accounts I’ve heard from multiple reliable sources that at an event tonight Justice Prosser doubled down on his statement that Chief Justice Abrahamson is a “bitch.” I hope to have some video of exactly what Justice Prosser said tonight once it’s posted online.
