In the GOP Political Presidential Pipeline – Bigots

The GOP Presidential pipeline is shaping up to be full of religious bigots as several candidates go on the attack with a pledge to reinstate Don’t Ask Don’t Tell and to attack any marriage or civil union progress for gays and lesbians at the state and federal level.

Among the bigots pledging to reinstate the dastardly DADT are doughboy, former lobbyist and good old boy Mississppi Governor Haley Barbour worrying about amorous man sex on the battlefield hurting military effectiveness.

He joins colorless “TPaw” Pawlenty, right wing former Governor of Minnesota who is heading right with another pledge to reinstate DADT. Here he is talking to his right wing…

Meanwhile, former Arkansas Governor Huckabee, the current favorite according to Gallup with 19% had this to say about reinstating DADT according to OnenNewsNow:

“I would — because that’s really what the military wants,” says Huckabee. “There’s been some talk that the military is fine with having same-sex orientation people. But if you really surveyed the combat troops, that is not at all the case.”

We all know what happens when you get Republicans anywhere near the seats of power, the country goes backwards whether economically, socially, politically or morally.  The range of GOP Presidential candidates with the exception of openly gay GOP Presidential Fred Karger, we can see what their backwardness would mean on this social issue and what it would mean in terms of generating further divisiveness on an issue that the majority of American people have already come to terms with and/or rightfully support the repeal of DADT and the open service of gays and lesbians in our military.
