Second conservative to announce candidacy against Wirch in recall election

According to the “Recall Wirch” Facebook page, another conservative seems poised to enter the recall election against Democratic State Senator Bob Wirch. Attorney Jonathan Steitz will be holding a press conference in Pleasant Prairie on Wednesday to announce his intentions to seek the seat currently held by Sen. Wirch if a recall election against Sen. Wirch is certified by the state’s Government Accountability Board.

According to the Wisconsin Circuit Court Access (WCCA) system, a Jonathan Steitz living on Sheridan Road in Kenosha was the subject of a tax warrant in the amount of $2,728.32 in 2003, but based on what little information is available about Jonathan Steitz, it’s hard to tell if the two individuals are one and the same.

Given the fact that Sen. Wirch beat none other than RNC Chairman Reince Priebus in the 2004 State Senate election, I have no doubt Wirch will be able to easily beat whichever conservative challenger happens to make it out of the Republican primary.
