Ed Schultz suspended by MSNBC following vile comments towards Laura Ingraham

MSNBC announced Ed Schultz, host of the Ed Schultz Show, has been suspended without pay for one week after Schultz called conservative talk show host Laura Ingraham a “right wing slut” on his syndicated radio show.

After making his vile comments, Schultz met with MSNBC executives, acknowledged his inappropriate and vile comments and offered to take a one week unpaid leave from his show, an offer executives accepted. Here’s Schultz’s full on-air apology:

I’m glad Ed Schultz did the right thing in issuing an apology for his vile and insensitive comments, and what’s more, for recognizing how inappropriate his comments were and offering to take unpaid leave from his TV show. However, Schultz’s apology – and the punishment he received for his comments – don’t negate the fact that he shouldn’t have said what he said in the first place.

  1. Well, that was pretty classy. A whole lot classier than that “right wing … oh, never mind.

  2. Why, because Ed Schultz was right wing himself when it suited him and now that the Other Side is offering money and a seat on camera he’s suddenly here?
Seems to me that there’s enough unemployment out there, they should be able to find a more personable and genuinely Lefty pundit, and while they’re at it – one who’s a bit easier on the eyes.

    1. Your right! Big Ed’s apology had nothing about losing his income stream. What a mercenary!

  3. Ed is an honorable gentleman and is willing to apologize when he is wrong. I do not believe that the same honorable spirit rest with Lara, Hannity and\or O’Reily. They are incapable of any apologies, and if they are; let them start by apologyzing to the President and first lady. By saying, “Mr President, you are not a socialist, racist, Kenyan or Muslim. We are indeed sorry for not accepting you, as the legitimate duly elected President of these United States. Because you are an Black America”.

    1. Honorable? I guess all of the liberal drones defending comments regarding Sarah Palin and African American Rebublicans. Comments like the C-word, the B-word or The Uncle Tom word. Where is the female outrage?
