Republican legislative aide under investigation for vote fraud

But wait….I thought Republicans didn’t engage in vote fraud!

A Republican legislative aide is under investigation for possible vote fraud after she cast her ballot in the November election in Onalaska although she lives in Madison.

La Crosse County District Attorney Tim Gruenke said he has forwarded the report from the Onalaska Police Department to Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne to see if criminal charges are warranted against Marcie Malszycki, 30, an aide to state Rep. Warren Petryk, R-Eleva.

Records from the Government Accountability Board show Malszycki voted in Onalaska on Nov. 2, 2010, and Nov. 4, 2008, at the same time she had a home in Madison and worked at the state Capitol.

  1. so what?
kevin @ lakeshore laments lives and works in dc and virginia…yets votes from kiel, wi??

    1. Kevin’s posting comments on this very blog from an IP address that traces back to Kiel, Wisconsin, so I think you’re off base there.

    1. Considering often voter fraud all stereotyped as minorities traveling in large groups voting for democrats and have no jobs in the right wing noise machines, I’m kind of getting a kick out of the people who have been caught doing voter fraud have been white and hard working citizens who likely did a small mistake.

  2. The irony is this type of ‘voter fraud’ would not be prevented by voter ID. Nor would any of the 20 prosecuted instances from the 2008 Presidential elections be prevented by voter ID. I have never denied that there is voter fraud…but that it is 0.0007% of the total vote…worth spending $4+ million dollars on particularly when it won’t prevent the actual fraudulent practices?
