The topic of the week this week is should the republicans keep policy items and pork projects out of the budget. Despite their promise to do just that(it would take a month of posts to cover broken republican campaign promises), this budget is filled with policy items and pork projects.
There is one specifically that I wanted to call out. The Republicans declared February 6th as \"Ronald W Reagan day\". While not even remotely related to the budget it is fitting for this current group of Wisconsin republicans. Like Reagan, Fitz and Co., are disengaged “fiscal conservatives” who run up huge debts and give millions to supporters. This is where the state Republicans need our help.
The Motion reads: “appropriate exercises and celebrations may be held on that day, his birthday, to honor him and remember him as the 40th President of the United States and a promoter of freedom and democracy throughout the world,”
So we need to help them come up “appropriate celebrations and exercises” to commemorate the Gipper.
My suggestion would be on February 6th we all change our persona to reflect our favorite movie character and pretend that is who we really are. Since we know Reagan used to pretend he fought in the war, instead of realizing he just starred in a war movie…
Any other suggestions?
