No doubt Republican State Senator Dan Kapanke, who faces a tough recall election fight, will win bunches of supporters after saying he hopes public employees “are sleeping” during the recall vote against him. Speaking to La Crosse County Republicans last week, Kapanke was recorded acknowledging that his seat – as well as the seats held by Republican State Sens. Alberta Darling and Randy Hopper – were in serious jeopardy of being lost by Republicans.

I can’t help but think that comments like the ones Sen. Kapanke made to fellow Republicans will only serve to keep those public employees – and the thousands of other folks in Kapanke’s district who are opposed to the extreme anti-middle class, anti-public employee legislative agenda Kapanke has supported both energized and “awake” during his recall election.
