The Most Unpopular Politician in America Award Goes To…

Drum Roll Please! And the winner is – Wisconsin\'s own Paul Ryan (R-Wall St).

Democrats are winning the messaging war on Rep. Paul Ryan’s bid to overhaul Medicare, with a new Bloomberg poll finding 57 percent of Americans believe they would be worse off under his plan.

Only 34 percent said they would be better off if Congress replaced “traditional Medicare” with a program to purchase private insurance with government subsidies, as Ryan has proposed.

The poll also found Ryan is now the nation’s third most disliked Republican, with net unfavorable ratings that trail only former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. But more than half surveyed said they have no opinion of the Wisconsin Republican.

Sure he lost out to Newt Gingrich and Sarah Palin, but they are not really politicians anymore, they are just carnival shrills trying to cash in on their fleeting fame. paul ryan is the most unpopular sitting politician in America. While more than half of America does not know who he is, to know him is to dislike him! Just think, this is the guy who Alberta Darling hails as a hero.

  1. I hope Sandy Pasch and the others push this hard. It’s starting to look like delaying the recalls was not a smart move for the Rs, what with national political dynamics trending our way.

  2. Perhaps they’ll all stand behind Paul Ryan and his call for even more tax breaks for Boeing.

  3. Bloomberg did not publicly release crosstabs of their survey, so the partisan breakdown of its poll results is not known

  4. Sounds like 57% of the people in this country will be changing their view when they realise that you can’t tax youself out of the situation we are in. It doesn’t even come close. So guys what are your plans to pay of this deficit? Oh and this guy WILL be president one day so I can see why you need to start bashing him early.

    1. To the contrary, this is the result of people changing their views once they start seeing what Republican voodoo soundbite economics actually means when the rubber meets the road.

  5. The most unpopular politician in america is a good start for presidency, lets hope he keeps it up.

And im new here, so you dont know me, but ive been bashing ryan for 10 years at least.

What a shame. “A messaging war”. As if the value or the ideas are irrelevant. Only how we “feel” about it is important.

    What have we become.

  7. Paul Ryan is a spokesman for the Koch brothers and other billionaries. He worked for an organization largely funded by them. They have planned this for years. Eric Kantor is another rep for wealthy banks. They are only concerned about maximizing profits and lowering their taxes. They want to see the economy worsen so they can take over the country completely and turn it into a third world country. They simply don’t care about the working class. We NEED JOBS AND THEIR TRICKLE DOWN ECONOMICS HAS PROVEN NOT TO WORK UNDER Bush-remember. This ecomomy is in crisis and we know that Greenspan and Bush created a credit banking bubble that destroyed it. A return to those policies will be a bread line scenario in 2 months.
