Hey! Look at that! Blogging Blue has a new look!

As part of my ongoing effort to improve the experience here at Blogging Blue, I’ve implemented a new look for Blogging Blue, which will be the first of several changes intended to make your experience here even better. I hope you like the new look, and I can’t wait to hear your feedback.

I noticed some comment boxes are dark blue and that’s fairly hard to read with black text over dark blue. If you can change the color for that, it would be nice.

I like it. It’s bright and cheerful.

It’s awfully white. On my computer, the right section of the page is such that I have to scroll. But I’m adaptable. And as a rule, I like change. . .

      • I’ve found that the look of the site changes depending on your screen resolution. There’s more blue if your resolution is set above 1024×768.

Minor thing, but the recent comments (“Join the Discussion…” block) seems a bit shorter now. I really almost never use the Categories links so I find the space that occupies to be wasted – but I use the frequent comments links often.

    Take it or leave it.

Really wish you would’ve gone more this route.

I miss Geocities and the 90′s.

You’ve said some things I’ve disagreed with JCG, but that’s the first post that actually caused me pain. ;) Hopefully nobody prone to seizures follows that link. Ah, the “good ol’ days.”

  • Maybe a disco ball?

I like the new look alot and also agree with Locke & JCG that the recent comments is my favorite part because it helps everyone see where the discussion of the day is.

I have been busy but will be donating and posting again soon.

Is it my imagination or is the font bigger? I like the new design. Keep up the good work with the substantive matter.

One of the things I do here is to read the comments generated by the articles. I have noticed that some of the articles no longer have a comment number indicator on the front page.
Would it be possible to add a line to the posts that double up at the bottom of the first page, (and on the older pages) and place a number of comments indicator there?
    Just a thought.
I have also noticed that the Post comment and Preview comments buttons are not on the same line for me. (Mac with Firefox 5.0) Not sure if that is intended or not.
    Thanks for a great blog!

Like it…but will take some getting used to…on my screen the calendar overlaps the join the discussion column…but I guess libs don’t do anything on Saturdays anyway.

  • Well folks, I’m actively tweaking things to improve the readability and look of the site, so bear with me…
