Once again Republican State Senate candidate David VanderLeest, who’s running against Democratic State Senator Dave Hansen in a recall election, has made Republicans across Wisconsin proud via this gem of a press release:

Once again I have been a victim of theft. Last night my car was broken into, window broke, etc. My Computer was stolen along with the list of recall circulators. My bet is, it was the thugs that have been tailing me with Illinois plates for the last three weeks. This is just one man’s opinion. This is the second break in. I was a victim once during the recall, and now again during the campaign.

Great work, David! You’re sure to win on July 19!

  1. Jake formerly of the LP says:

And remember, he lied about that supposed break-in at “Recall Hansen” headquarters a couple of months back as well. By the way, what ever happened with that?

    • Zach says:

I’m betting it was an unfounded allegation, much like I’m sure this is unfounded. Doesn’t it strike you as odd that this “break in” happened a week before the election, just like the last one happened a week or two before signatures were due?

  2. Jan Tessier says:

I don’t advocate violence, but I’d sure love to see someone punch VanderLEAST in the mouth, just on general principles. And also because it would make great television—almost as good as Buzz Aldrin punching some punkass kid who was looming over him at an airport, calling Aldrin a “coward” because the punkass kid thinks the moon landing was a hoax.
    VanderLEAST is a hoax.

  3. Apostle says:

This guy has some serious problems, mainly being the English language and grammar. But yes…seems awfully suspicious a break in again…now to his car!
Pay NO attention to those men in the car from Illinois, they are Jake and Elwood and they are on a mission from GOD to smite your stupid ass!

    • Zuma Bound says:

“Pay NO attention to those men in the car from Illinois, they are Jake and Elwood and they are on a mission from GOD to smite your stupid ass!”

(*laughing*). . .Jake and Elwood Blues. . .(*laughing*) Perfect!

Thanks for so aptly putting VanderLeast in an appropriate context, Apostle.

  4. Joe Lang says:

Perhaps he can take his complaints to his shop steward.

  5. Steven Reynolds says:

This guy is delusional, and the GOP should run an ad telling their members not to vote for him. Well, then again, they don’t seem to care about how tarnished their brand is. . .

  6. Zuma Bound says:

“[T]hey don’t seem to care about how tarnished their brand is. . .”

    You’ve got THAT right, Steven.

At the risk of tarnishing my brand by admitting that I used to be a Republican, I have to say that, IF I was still a Republican, I would be so sick and tired of the hypocrisy and the singular lack of integrity on the part of Republicans these days that I would switch parties.

Walker, the Fitzgeralds and the Wisconsin Republican Party will soon pay a stiff price for the “ethical standards” by which they operate.

    • Wingnut says:

I wish I had been reading this blog when Doyle was the Gov. Was everyone here busy pointing out how ethical he was?

    • Zuma Bound says:

      @ Wingnut

“I wish I had been reading this blog when Doyle was the Gov. ”

Well, I guess that you weren’t, were ya?

So, in the present, how about staying “on topic” for once instead of doing what you generally do, which is to look for some way to pivot away from the actual blog topic to a subject more to your liking and right-wing sensibilities.

The subject of this blog post is David Vanderleest. I ‘m genuinely sorry if he constitutes an embarrassment to you and your Republican and/or wingnut friends, and is someone about whom you would rather not talk, but HE is the topic of conversation here, not Jim Doyle.
