Last month I noted the allegations conservative group Wisconsin Right to Life had engaged in vote bribery by offering rewards to volunteers who signed up sympathetic voters in Wisconsin’s State Senate recall elections.

Well it seems that story has some serious legs, as it’s being reported the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s office has opened a John Doe investigation into the bribery allegations.

Details of the secret investigation are sketchy, but it is clear the Milwaukee County district attorney’s office is investigating charges that Wisconsin Right to Life offered rewards for volunteers who signed up sympathetic voters in the recall races. Several people familiar with the investigation said subpoenas were being distributed “like candy.”

I can’t wait to see how this all turns out!

Wasn’t there also evidence that WRTL had coordinated their campaign mailers with other organizations supporting Republican candidates during the recalls?

Americans for Prosperity sent absentee ballot applications to registered Democrats with the wrong return deadline, apparently to sow confusion. The return address was the same that WRTL uses.

Julaine Appling is a good Christian and does God’s work. She would have made sure those ballots were turned in eventually.
