From Lawrence O’Donnell Jr.

What did liberals do that was so offensive to the Republican Party?  I’ll tell you what they did.  Liberals got women the right to vote.  Liberals got African-Americans the right to vote.  Liberals created Social Security and lifted millions of elderly people out of poverty.  Liberals ended segregation. Liberals passed the Civil Rights Act, the Voting Rights Act.  Liberals created Medicare.  Liberals passed the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act.

What did Conservaitves do?  They opposed them on every one of those things, every one.  So when you try to hurl that label at my feet, ‘Liberal,’ as if it were something to be ashamed of, something dirty, something to run away from, it won’t work, because I will pick up that label and I will wear it as a badge of honor.

    Are you drunk?

    Republicans freed the slaves
Republicans gave them the right to vote
Why do you think the Republican party was originally called the black party?
KKK founded by Democrats in opposition to Blacks having the right to vote.

Fact check!!!! You need some help.

    President Lincoln – Republican
    Booth – Democrat

Learn to do some research before looking like a fool!!!

You do the research. In 1854 the Republican Party was started by liberal northern businessmen against slavery. Booth was not a Democrat he was a member of the No Nothing Party (joined in the 1850s). So, it seems you have that in common with him. The same conservatives who were “Dixiecrats” only because Lincoln was a Republican are now all Republicans themselves. When LBJ, a Dem, signed the Civil Rights Act he knew it was the end of Democrats in the south.
