This stuff just writes itself sometimes.
Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker says thanks but no thanks to any federal economic stimulus money for county projects.
The only federal economic stimuli Walker endorses are tax cuts.
Governor Scott Walker has asked the U.S. Department of Agriculture to designate four Wisconsin counties as disaster areas because of ginseng and soybean crop losses caused in part by cold, wet weather in September.
If Vilsack declares the disaster areas, farmers there and in adjacent counties would be eligible to receive low-interest loans help them recover from the losses.
So let me get this straight. The banksters drive the economy off a cliff and Walker declines Federal assistance to Milwaukee County citizens who are suffering due to job losses because his ideological radar can’t see anything but tax cuts, but farmers who lose their crops are entitled to federal assistance because…. something, something, something? Yummy waffles, Governor Walker!
Maybe he should recommend to the U.S. Department of Agriculture that they cut the farmer’s taxes instead. Surely that’ll help.
If he weren’t facing a recall election he wouldn’t request the disaster area designation. Hence, the recall effort may be responsible for helping farmers around Wisconsin.
This bears repeating. The recall effort is already forcing Walker to do the right thing, a thing he probably wouldn’t do on his own.
That was my thought too.
I think he hates capitalism and wants to take the risk out of farming.
Funny, I didn’t the the phrase “moral hazard” anywhere in that whole article. Where could it have gotten to, I wonder?
