“Regrets… I’ve had a few…”

Satrap Governor Scott Walker has regrets….  Like a dishonest child caught lying about smoking or busted lifting a $20 from his dad’s wallet, Walker has some “I got caught being bad” regrets.

Lil' Scooter LOVES His New Sweater!

The Satrap Governor of Wisconsin reveals that he’s got some regrets about some of the things he’s done…. I’ll bet he does.  600,000 signatures and rising should tell him that.

The Republican governor, now facing a recall effort, said he regretted not having done a better job of selling his changes regarding collective bargaining for public employees. The initiative sparked massive protests, including a month-long sit-in at the Capitol and the largest rallies in state history that drew up to 100,000 protestors to the Capitol Square in Madison.

“If I could do this all over again, I’d spend more time in January and February making a case,” Walker said in an interview with the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism.

“I just kind of came in and said, ‘OK, here’s the problem, here’s the solution, I’ll just go fix it.’ And I didn’t spend a lot of time building up a communications effort to explain … the reasons why.”

The reason you didn’t explain it, Satrap Governor Walker is that collective bargaining with public employees wasn’t fiscally broken.  But it is a source of funding for the Democratic Party.  That’s why you went after those rights.  Getting caught in a lengthy series of lies about public workers, getting called on the carpet by the voters about it and ultimately losing your job because of it, it’s no wonder you have regrets.

The Satrap Governor also has regrets about being an inept political strategist.

“I never anticipated that you’d have 14 senators leave and be gone for nearly a month,” Walker said, referring to the flight to Illinois of 14 Democrats who tried to stall the measure by preventing a quorum of the state Senate.

And he really regrets the phony Koch call where he was caught revealing his plans.

Walker said his comments during this call “were not inconsistent with anything else I said” in other contexts. But “just the fact that I was duped … that I would go off and talk about stuff like that, yeah, it was stupid.”

So basically Walker regrets quite a lot considering he’s been in office less than a year.  Inept, clumsy and awkward politics are the dominant themes for the Walker administration.  And regrets… He’s had (quite) a few…

And Scooter, you did do it your way!  And baby, that’s gonna cost you big time.  From all of us on the Progressive side of the aisle, thanks for being so delightfully incompetent!  From the record job losses, the crony capitalism you support, right down to the tone-deaf “croquet party” hosted by you and your Stepford wife, you’ve made the task of pitching you out of office that much easier!

I hope you enjoy your first and last Christmas in the Governor’s Mansion!

  1. Most of all he regrets forgetting the first rule of Divide and Conquer; you pick off groups one at a time, you don’t go after the entire non-wealthy population of Wisconsin at once. Doh!

  2. Way to lay the lumber on Walker’s BS, Phil. It reminds me of Bush saying around 2007 thathus biggest. Regret about Iraq was that he said ‘Bring it on!’, and should have been more tactful.

NO YOU DIMWIT! The problem wasn’t the messaging or the strategy on collective bargaining, it was THE LYING ABOUT IT BEING A PROBLEM IN THE FIRST PLACE. And don’t give this BS about how it’s wasn’t about politics when Scott Fitzgerald admitted on Fox that it was all about hurting Obama in 2012!

Dear God, this grifter thinks we’re stupid. Hey Scotty, this is reality, not the Charles Syhkes show, and saying something now does not erase the record of your past.

Enjoy your one and only Christmas as Governor, Scotty. And ‘reasoning’ like yours go along way

  3. Stupid phone technology! Let me finish that last thought-

Tone-deaf ‘reasoning’ like yours goes a long way toward explaining why this will be your only Christmas as gov. You still don’t get what this is really about, and you’re probabloy too much of a dull sociopath to EVER get it.
