Scott Walker singing “We Shall Overcome?” You’ve got to be kidding me!

This just makes me sick.
It takes pure, unmitigated gall for Gov. Scott Walker to sing “We Shall Overcome” given what he’s done to Wisconsin since he was sworn into office, and his ouster can’t come soon enough.

What’s your problem with him singing this song? What makes me sick is that you seem to have forgotten the real meaning of this song (by the way, it didn’t have anything to do with pension contributions, overtime pay, or free viagra benefits).
So when you take the real/original meaning into account, it makes me sick that public employees would sing that song to use it for their cause. Would you be offended if I sang “We Shall Overcome” in honor of what Walker and other conservatives did to OVERCOME high taxes, big government, and an out of control system for public employees?
“The song was published in 1947 as “We Will Overcome” in the People’s Songs Bulletin (a publication of People’s Songs, an organization of which Pete Seeger was the director and guiding spirit). It appeared in the bulletin as a contribution of and with an introduction by Zilphia Horton, then music director of the Highlander Folk School of Monteagle, Tennessee, an adult education school that trained union organizers. “

I would not be offended by your singing this song, but that would certainly cause me to LMFAO. The origins of the song are not rooted in the HAVES seeking to have more. You do not need protest songs for your causes, you have entities, i.e. corporations and their in your pocket politicians on your side. The song deals with oppression of working men and women as well as a minority population of AMERICANS whom were denied the most basic civil rights. Take a man of Walker’s ilk back 40, 50, or 60 years and it is not hard to imagine which side he comes down on. So, love Walker or hate him, on MLK Day, sitting in the light of remembrance of this great American leader, Walker should just have put a bag over his head. It was painful to watch.
Why don’t you go troll somewhere else? You know nothing about the public employee issue, and like ever other Republican POS, you want to set the poor bastards that have been raped by the Corporations and the Rich thieves AGAINST anyone who has it 2 cents better than they do to keep their minds OFF idiots like you. You’re just another slave like the rest of us and you’re too dumb to see it.
