Mitt Romneys Pitance

This is from last nights Colbert Report. While the whole thing is great, especially Romney’s incoherent rant about releasing his tax returns, but one thing really stood out to me.

Mitt when stumbling around what he pays in taxes, he points out that it “is probably closer to 15%(must be nice) since his income comes “overwhelmingly from investments”. Mitt then went on to say “Then I get speakers fee’s from time to time but not very much”

As CNN points out and Colbert Shared, “Not very much” means different things to different people:

Mitt Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, earned $374,327.62 in speaking fees between February 2010 and February 2011

Do we really want a president who thinks of $374,327.32 as “not very much” to be president of the United States? I know I don’t!
