State of the GOP: Santorum is the Voice of Reason

Santorum is the man who urged Congress to do all in its power to revive a braindead Terry Schiavo in 2005.  He was a whackjob trampling on individual rights.  He promptly lost his Senate seat by record margins, in a fetid cloud of Santorum.  But this is where the GOP Presidential race is today.  Yes, Rick Santorum is the voice of reason, at least in comparison to the flakes around him.  Here’s what he said concerning Newt Gingrich’s proposal to build a base on the moon, from Talking Points Memo:

Rick Santorum took a swipe at Newt Gingrich’s moon base proposal, accusing the former House Speaker of “playing crass politics and not being realistic with the people of this country.”

Man, this is only getting better as we go along.  Newt is due for some self-destruction, and Romney is fumbling with his taxes, immigration, etc.  Don’t let anyone tell you the crazy left the GOP race when Palin decided not to enter and Perry and Bachmann bowed out.  We’ve got much more to come.

  1. I wouldn’t go *that* far. The only real difference between Santorum and Michele Bachmann is that he doesn’t wear a skirt.

  2. You mean he doesn’t wear a skirt in public. A fine distinction, but I’d like to see it held to.
