Meet Scott Walker’s New Criminal Defense Attorneys

Wow… Walker has hired two new lawyers to… let me get this straight… “assemble additional background information, I hired counsel to insure that I am in the best position possible to continue aiding the inquiry.”

Really?  You hired these guys?

Michael J. Steinle

Michael Steinle focuses his practice in the area of criminal law.  His criminal defense practice includes representation of individuals charged with a broad range of serious criminal offenses.  He has experience with a multitude of criminal defense matters which extend to complex, multi-defendant Federal and State prosecutions, including, but not limited to; drug cases, homicide, sexual assault and white collar crimes, including individuals and businesses in a wide variety of fields, throughout the State of Wisconsin.

John N. Gallo

is a partner at the firm, and a former federal prosecutor in Chicago. His practice includes conducting internal investigations for institutions, representing criminal defendants and grand-jury targets, and representing parties in complex civil litigation.

I suppose if you expect to be indicted, these are exactly the lawyers you want.  But to help you pull some old files together???  I think not…  Walker and the Wisconsin GOP are neck deep in shit and the tide is coming in.

  1. You have no idea how much I hope you are right. This is killing me! I can’t stand waiting for it…

  2. If this were a story about Democratic Governor Jim Doyle, no doubt the conservative blogosphere (not to mention right-wing talk radio) here in Wisconsin would be all atwitter.

Since it’s a story about Republican Governor Scott Walker, not so much.

Having said that, why would “completely innocent” Scott Walker need to hire two more lawyers when his campaign already has former U.S. Attorney Stephen Biskupic on retainer?

    1. it would be even funnier if his new lawyers didn’t have licenses to practice law in Wisconsin

      1. One does. He’ll serve as local counsel, and Gallo out of Chicago is the big gun. This is a common practice throughout the country.

    2. Good point Biskupic surely isn’t a slouch. And he could act as Wisconsin counsel. I’m guessing Biskupic must have a conflict. Really, there’s no reason to go after a Gallo, or someone to represent inside the state of Wisconsin, if Biskupic is on the case. I’m betting he’s recused.

  3. It drives me absolutely nuts that he always has a press release on Friday at the end of the day . . . hoping against hope it won’t be picked up by any main stream media. Yeah . . , the fact you hired two lawyers is not going to escape the + million people that signed the recall papers Scott.

    1. Yes, but remember republican big bucks go to other republicans. Whatever “cause” these 1%ers (Walker donors are not from the 99%) give to only cements their place in the republican hierarchy, it is a selt-grandizing game of money laundering, payola and bribery.

  4. Yeah, we get it. Good lawyers are expensive and are assholes.

Of course Walker has retained counsel. For cryin’ out loud, our own Dane county DA Ozanne kneels down praying every night he can figure out a way to overturn Act 10. OUR DA!!

So yeah, I’d retain counsel too. He could probably use one more good one just to balance out the collective lynch mob working on trying to nail his ass to the wall.

You guys are all retards. Don’t you know that they wouldn’t be arresting people at this point if Walker was implicated? They’d be quietly cutting deals to have him offered up. They already have all the evidence. And believe me, if there was anything on Walker, it would have leaked to Madison’s finest media elite by now.

    1. Any retard knows that it’s easier for a DA to make a deal for cooperation with the low-lying fruit after charges have been filed. The leverage increases dramatically.

  5. My thought is that Steinle will handle State charges while Gallo will try to ward off the Feds. Remember that Tim Russell ran the County Housing Department which would have received Federal funds for programs such as Section 8. Rent vouchers would have been a very tempting target for someone with an alleged proclivity for embezzlement.

There is no telling where this investigation will lead. Does anyone think that Walker suddenly went straight after becoming Governor? Habitual criminality is a form of addiction. Pay to play? Why yes, thanks for asking.
