But… but… but…. WE’RE BROKE!

At least that’s what the Walkerbots keep telling us.  But apparently not broke enough to concede on a clear violation of  voting rights.

The court rejected that argument Wednesday morning and gave them 5 1/2 hours to say whether they would spend the coming weeks making alterations to the maps. The Republicans declined to do so, and the court said it would start the trial at 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

The case comes to trial just as Gov. Scott Walker nearly doubles the amount in taxpayer money that can be spent on outside attorneys assisting the Department of Justice in the lawsuit. Documents released Wednesday show Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren has billed the state $288,000 so far for its work, and the cap on its contract is being raised from $500,000 to $925,000.

Those costs are in addition to the $400,000 that Republican lawmakers have committed to two law firms that helped them draw the maps.

Corrupt to the core, the whole fucking lot of them.  Nearly $1MM to defend an indefensible set of maps.

The GOP should be prosecuted as an ongoing criminal enterprise.  Time to pull out the RICO lawsuits.
