Walker signs wetlands destruction bill into law while joined by appreciative developers

Yeah, this just about sums up whose interests Republican Gov. Scott Walker cares most about…

The Republican governor approved the controversial legislation before an appreciative audience from the Wisconsin Realtors Association.

As noted by Jim Rowen over at The Political Environment notes, we can look for Gov. Walker to sign the fast-track mining bill that should make it to his desk in a couple of weeks at the Hurley offices of GTAC, the mining company that helped write the Assembly version of the bill and which has given Walker and other mining proponents campaign donations.

After all, nothing says payback by signing a bill pushed hard by special interests into law while those very same special interests are in attendance.

  1. Thirty-five years ago this sort of thing was called “bribery.” It was illegal, and would land anybody in hot water up to his unmentionables – if not actually in jail. Now it’s done completely out in the open, as if to say, “Just watch us do as we please. There’s not a thing you can do about it, so you might as well lie back, close your eyes, and enjoy it as long as it’s gonna happen anyway.”

  2. Now it’s time to find out exactly which realtor(s) supported this bill and let those who want to sell their house know that they don’t need these parasites anymore.

There are plenty of realtors that don’t agree with this attack on our environment and it will pay to seek them out. Ask them directly if they support ” The Wanker” and check the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign website for campaign donations from them and their parent companies.
