What a bunch of Grade-A hypocrites at WTMJ

From the WTMJ News Team…

We have some news we need to tell you about ourselves, and the recall election against Governor Scott Walker.

TODAY’S TMJ4 and Newsradio 620 WTMJ discovered that several members of our staff signed the recall petitions for Governor Walker.

The posting by the WTMJ News Team continues, “Our reputation of being a fair and unbiased news source is of paramount importance to both TODAY’S TMJ4 and Newsradio 620 WTMJ.”

There’s a tremendous amount of irony in the folks at Newsradio 620 WTMJ being concerned about their reputation as a “fair and unbiased news source,” considering their stable of “fair and unbiased” personalities like Charlie Sykes and Jeff Wagner. According to the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign’s Campaign Finance Database, “fair and unbiased” Charlie Sykes donated $500 to then-Republican gubernatorial candidate Scott Walker in 2010, leaving me to question just how “fair and unbiased” Charlie Sykes really is.

According to the report by the WTMJ News Team, WTMJ is “in the process of dealing with it internally,” leaving me to wonder why WTMJ would take any action at all against its employees for daring to exercise their constitutional rights to sign a recall petition under the guise of protecting the station’s reputation as a “fair and unbiased” news source while at the same time turning a blind eye to Charlie Sykes’ significant donation to the gubernatorial campaign of Scott Walker. The fact that Charlie Sykes saw fit to donate $500 of his own money to help elect a Republican governor seems to undermine WMTJ’s quest to preserve their reputation as a “fair and unbiased” news source, and the fact that WTMJ has turned a blind eye to Charlie Sykes’ extremely partisan bias shows what a bunch of Grade-A hypocrites the folks at WTMJ are.

The folks at WTMJ should be ashamed of themselves for targeting staffers who signed petitions to recall Gov. Scott Walker while at the same time turning a blind eye to the highly partisan behavior of Charlie Sykes.

MAL Contends has more on this.

    1. Wow resorting to 50cent SAT building words. Did it make you feel better? Nothing personal!

      1. Randy, if there was a “news service” out there that was funded by the usual likely Democratic sources, and it openly declared itself to be biased in the usual directions, and they regularly sent out “news stories” that expressed their bias, do you think newspapers should reprint them as-is?

  1. @Randy: Turgid a 50 cent SAT word? I would have thought an “alpha male” had a better vocabulary.

    Thanks for your comment.

  2. Other Side, that Alpha Male really bothers you! You keep bringing that up. I did love the snail mail article you sent in the past! You really do care!

  3. @Randy: Actually, I never sent you a snail-mail article. And while I will admit I may have referred to your self-proclaimed alpha maleness in the distant past, there is reasonable doubt.

Two things come to mind: 1) You actually see the Easter Bunny or 2) You are mistaken.

    Thanks for your comment.

  4. Other side,

I find you to be so funny. Two days before your public comment about Alpha Male I get snail mail of the same, hmm… No it is not I that sees things not real, I live in the real world, do you?

Did you choose “Other side” because you speak out of your other side? Would that be your better side? How about taking this back to the subject of the post?

    1. Randy, with all due respect you advertise yourself on your blog as “an Ultra-Conservative, Alpha-Male, True Authentic Leader, Type “C” Personality.”

That’s bound to invite some level of criticism from some people some of the time. For the record the attacks you’ve been subject to aren’t much different than the attacks most of us bloggers have faced at one time or another….I had my autistic son called a “retard” that should be beat with a golf club by some anonymous nutcase, and as other side noted he’s been subjected to some nastiness too, so before you start making accusations be sure you understand the full context of things. Perhaps the “alpha male” snail mail you received was nothing more than a coincidence, which happens from time to time.

As for your comment to other side to take this back to the subject of the post, I don’t remember the subject of the post being the reading comprehension skills of individuals, yet you chose to take things there. If you want others to stay on topic, then perhaps you should practice what you preach.

      1. Hmm… When did you have your window shot out? When did you have your car keyed? When did someone leave a pile of dog shit with a note? When did someone defile your dead son’s grave? When did someone leave the air out of your tires and put a note to stay out of the city’s business?

        Please tell me Zach!!!

Hey, if people want to play in the mud, I will get my ankles muddy. And Zach, don’t worry about bring back the subject as we know the direction and those are the rules you use!

        1. Randy, I never said I’ve had any of those things happen to me; I was simply relating just one of my own personal experiences with the lengths some people will go to in order to harass/silence those of us who blog and share our opinions. It’s unfortunate that people seem to feel they can act in such a disrespectful and downright disgusting manner.

What’s really unfortunate is that as you chose to share your personal experiences, you also felt compelled to add in one last dig at me….that’s really a shame.

        2. Oh, and here’s my one last comment to you: if you don’t like the rules I use here, then surf somewhere else.

  5. @Randy: I really did not send that snail mail, and I checked my blog’s archives and could find no reference to you.

People should not be sending stuff like that to other’s homes.

btw: I have had a similar experience. Some troll began using my late mother’s name and often suggested he’d had a drink or shots with my mother. My mom was an alcoholic with 40+ years of sobriety, during which she helped hundreds of others (maybe more) get sober.

In any case I have more interesting things to do — Happy Easter and thanks for your comment.

  6. Other side,

Not only that but if you check with the Bay View Compass they will tell you someone has been snail mailing things to them from me. Which is not me! I just know that I matter.

  7. That’s weird, Randy. I empathize. It’s one thing to banter in comments sections, quite another and too personal otherwise.

  8. @Randy: Just make sure to take your shoes off before entering the kitchen.

    Thanks for your comments.

  9. WTMJ is participant in the willful destruction of democracy in Wisconsin. They are a hate group and must be silenced. The effects of WTMJ’s insidious propaganda through good ole boy sports coverage can be felt throughout the state, though the influence is worst in Milwaukee county and the surrounding WOW counties. Republicans are controlled by outside interests that seek to rape the natural beauty and resource of this once fair state. Retaliation against those that signed the petitions is disturbing on a fundamental level. If you can’t see it, that’s because you have been blinded by propaganda.
