Wisconsin loses jobs in June, state unemployment rate rises

The June job numbers are out, they’re not good for Wisconsin.

Wisconsin lost an estimated 11,700 private sector jobs in June and the unemployment rate rose to 7% from 6.8% in May, the state Department of Workforce Development reported Thursday.

For those of you keeping score at home, that’s two out of the past three months that Wisconsin has lost jobs, and now our unemployment rate is back on the rise.

Personally, I blame Governor Scott Walker.

  1. I would agree. Why have we not made that case to “conservatives” still criticizing all government stimulus and spending in Wisconsin in costly media ads? It’s as inexplicable as the carnage in Colorado last night.
