Todd Akin: raising money off “legitimate rape” comments

Despite apologizing for his “legitimate rape” comments, Republican U.S. Senate candidate Todd Akin is using the opportunity to raise money on Twitter for his floundering campaign. In the aftermath of Akin’s “legitimate rape” comments, the Republican establishment moved quickly to withdraw their support of Akin’s campaign, with the National Republican Senatorial Committee and Crossroads GPS PAC pulling their financial support for Akin’s campaign.

  1. Yep….I believe they call men who profit off of women’s (violent) illeagal sexual encounters……PIMPS!!! Just as bad as the rapists.

  2. “Legitimate” rape??
Hey- It’s the same thing that Ryan has proposed, time and time again,
with his “forcible” rape legislation. And now… he’s trying to run from it.
If the Republicans win, the rich will rape this COUNTRY….”legitimately”.
If the Republicans win, the rich will abort Medicare .
If the Republicans win, the rich will abort Social Security,
If the Republicans win, the rich will lower their own taxes, and screw he rest of us.
Cause Lyin’ Ryan and More-mon-ey Romney are the Conservative Caviar Candidates.
They’re the DREAM team for the super-rich.
And apparently they don’t have enuf in this great country – they want it ALL!
But they’re the NIGHTMARE team…. for seniors, the the middle-class , for women’s rights,
for students receiving Pell grants, and for all the rest of us who are struggling
…..while the big corporations send jobs and profits overseas,
and the super-rich like Romney avoid paying their fair share.
Romney-Ryan have billions from their buddies for non-stop ads.
They can fool some of the people some of the time.
But no more. Cause we’re ON to you guys! And we vote.

  3. Well, he never really did apologize. He exploited the controversy that he himself created to torque his spin. It will be interesting to see how his financial appeal resonates.

  4. Now he’s claiming there have been death threats. If there have been, shame on these individuals. However, it would not be beyond belief that these have been manufactured. Repuglicans are masters of victimhood.

btw: How many threats to state Repugs were ever proven to be true? One I am aware of, and she was loopy.
