CIA Director David Petraeus resigns as Obama Cabinet shuffle nears

Citing “extremely poor judgment,” CIA Director David Petraeus resigned his position after having engaged in an extramarital affair. In accepting Petraeus’ resignation, President Barack Obama said Petraeus had led the Central Intelligence Agency “with characteristic intellectual rigor, dedication and patriotism,” adding, “Going forward, my thoughts and prayers are with Dave and Holly Petraeus, who has done so much to help military families through her own work. I wish them the very best at this difficult time.”

Petraeus’ resignation comes as President Obama’s cabinet is nearing a second-term shuffle, with at least 8 of President Obama’s Cabinet members rumored to be leaving. Likeliest to go are Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, Energy Secretary Steven Chu, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar and Lisa Jackson, administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, with Attorney General Eric Holder and Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood as possibilities to leave as well.

  1. Judging your own judgement seems like poor judgement to me. I’d give a lot to find out what this is all about. And all these administrative folks leaving just as the President has a chance to get down to work. That makes no since to me either. Any thoughts?

  2. Tried googling anything lately? I’ll give you a hint as to where to start, though.

The head of the CIA exchanging personal emails with his extra-marital dalliance might not seem proper for protecting state secrets to some. Never seen any old spy thrillers?

Geithner headed the $4.3 trillion dollar give-away of taxpayer paid bailouts to the banks, nothing up BO’s sleeve, there.

Hillary tired of obligatory whack-a-mole but needs to evaluate 2016 POTUS run and distance herself from the muddle in the M.E. Not many real solutions to easing tensions happening there, annah? She’s done a tough obligatory stint juggling things, there. Campaign money to raise, too.

Panetta, would you want to be remembered or blamed for losing mission impossible in Afghanistan? 10 years there and for what? 50K troops and 80K mercenaries in Iraq yet, plus two carrier battle groups and miscellaneous whatnot, read US might shout that we’ve had enough and to leave already.

Holder failing to prosecute anything from Bush and Cheney war crimes to any mortgage fraud, thus enabling Broncobama’s in plain sight thief Geithner to do the record public coffers to Wall St wealth transfer that is still unchecked. 53 Federal prosecutors needed to investigate Roger Clemmens possibly using steroids, though, I almost forgot about that. DOJ priorities and all, clamp down on prescription marijuana too. Obviously our public enemy #1 (snark).
Energy and EPA, standards already relaxed from Bush era, Keystone XL will be in full operation shortly as Barry has already promised to ship all that carbon out of the country, at our economic, employment and environmental peril, for multi-national corporation profits. Global warming has finally reached public undeniability and public outcry for actions toward remediation will require actual work and planning to accomplish that.

Ray LaHood is a genuine and responsible politician, and is tired of being all by his lonesome self, hanging out there politically, miles and miles farther to the left than his Republican boss. Only Republican who ever told Scott Walker where to shove it. He’ll be missed.

Obomber has been to “work,” since day one, but nothing at all for we the people, as I sense that you missed that fact. These people leaving, are leaving to stay in the good graces of the 1% as Barry is likely to be pressed hard to do a 180 and at least feign minor populist sentiment, or they are just getting out while the getting is still good.
