VIDEO: Scott Fitzgerald reveals corporations wrote mining bill

Watch as Republican State Senate majority leader Scott Fitzgerald explains how corporations, not legislators, wrote the mining bill Republicans plan on ramming through this session:

Obviously I’m not one bit surprised at the “foxes in the henhouse” approach employed by Sen. Fitzgerald and his Republican colleagues, because they’ve never struck me as being truly interested in representing their constituents instead of their corporate masters.

  1. With a budget of about $350 dollars, the Chippewa Valley Move To Amend team got our referendum passed by the Eau Claire County Commission and put it on the April ballot. With little promotion other than speaking on talk shows, tables at certain outside events, and a little canvassing the referendum passed with 70% for. On the ballot, the referendum read as follows:
be it RESOLVED, the County and City of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, call for reclaiming democracy from the corrupting effects
of undue corporate influence by amending the United States Constitution to establish that:

    1. Only human beings, not corporations, unions, or other artificial entities, are entitled to constitutional rights, and

    2. Money is not speech, and therefore regulating political contributions and spending is not equivalent to limiting political speech

    1. Go ahead, Roland. Tell us how you think old laws should be updated or rewritten. What sort of process should be used? Does your plan include legislators accepting drafts directly from lobbyists?

  2. Nancy Pelosi did not write Shit. The Koch brothers lawyers at the heritage foundation wrote the healthcare bill. Just as ALEC wrote our state budget. But keep watching Fox lies there Rollie !

  3. We need deadlines to the approval process in this type of mining. Of course a mining company would want to contribute. Its called working with the private sector not against it like how the blue fisters opperate.

We have zero mining in this state because there is never ending testing and appeals process.

The bill last year didn’t out right approve a mine. It was changing current law to define a deadline of enviro studies. Approval for a mine is at least two years away. Blue fisters delayed thousands of jobs and economic success for at least another year.
