A community discussion on reforming Milwaukee County government — including proposed legislation to slash the pay for supervisors and the County Board’s operating budget — will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Dretzka Park Clubhouse, 12020 W. Bradley Road.
The session, hosted by Supervisor Deanna Alexander, is aimed at generating public discussion on whether reforms are needed and what form they should take, she said.
State Rep. Joe Sanfelippo (R-West Allis) and Sen. Alberta Darling (R-River Hills) have sponsored draft legislation to hold a binding referendum on cutting supervisor pay by 70% to $15,000 or less. The measure also would eliminate health and pension benefits for supervisors and cut the County Board budget by some $5.5 million to about $1 million a year.
Supporters of the measure say it’s needed to refocus the board on major policy questions and away from meddling in day-to-day county operations.
How about “reforming” River Hills and West Allis? and its representatives from meddling?
Those aren’t counties nor do they have full time boards.
And actually the county board representatives from those areas would fall under this proposal.

How do you have a copy of a piece of legislation that is still in drafting and not be released yet? Seems a bit sketchy to me.
I asked for it. It’s common for legislation to be drafted and modified.
So who did you ask and how long did it take?
No answer, or are us unwashed masses not allowed to see it before it gets on the ballot?
I asked his office and I picked it up a week ago friday. If you want to see it, you can probably request it the same way I did or others have.
