Says noted school-choice advocate George Mitchell about former Democratic State Rep. Annette “Polly” Williams:

“Polly was useful to the school choice movement because of her race and her party affiliation,” Mitchell wrote of Williams, who is black and a Democrat.

While I find George Mitchell’s comments and attitude towards Polly Williams to be loathsome, I do appreciate the fact that Mitchell is finally publicly articulating one of the worst-kept secrets around, that being the fact that school choice advocates like Mitchell, Scott Jensen, etc. have essentially used African-American legislators like Williams and others as nothing more than tools to further their agenda.

  1. John Casper says:

Thanks Zach. Given his affiliation with the Hoover Institute , I’m not in the least bit surprised that Mr. Mitchell is steeped in refined and well-educated white-supremacist tactics.

Shame on Stanford for letting the Hoover Institute on campus.
