I felt this was fitting, given today is the 50th anniversary of Dr. King’s “I have a dream” speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”
– Dr. Martin Luther King., Jr.
Do we now apply those words to Bashar al-Assad?
Lauren Williams has a couple of good stories related to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his “I Have a Dream” speech – one on the speech itself that might generate a bit of ambivalence, the other – well, the other took me by surprise.

Everyone in the contemporary American left needs to talk less about Dr.King, and start talking more like him. I think he would agree.
