Jessie Rodriguez running as Republican in WI 21st Assembly District

According to this Facebook page, Jessie Rodriguez intends on running for the Assembly seat being vacated by Republican Rep. Mark Honadel, who has stated his intentions to resign (no doubt for a job he “earned” after he greased the skids for open-pit mining in Wisconsin’s northwoods). While Rodriguez’s Facebook page is devoid of much by the way of information about her (including no mention of her last name), according to her personal Facebook page, she’s the Outreach Coordinator for the Hispanics For School Choice group. Additionally, Jessie Rodriguez appears to be married to extreme right-wing blogger Aaron Rodriguez.

While there isn’t much information about Rodriguez provided on her campaign’s Facebook page, she make sure to mention that she thinks Wisconsin is “moving in the right direction” on job creation, despite the fact that our state lags behind many of our neighbors.

Wisconsin is moving in the right direction on job creation and education but partisan politics has been counterproductive.

While Jessie Rodriguez has lamented how counterproductive partisan politics can be, I expect her to run a highly partisan campaign for Assembly, given the makeup of that district as well as the fact that Republicans simply won’t tolerate a candidate for office who isn’t highly partisan and ready to go to Madison and rubber-stamp the anti-worker, anti-education, anti-middle class agenda that Republicans in the Assembly will continue to foist on Wisconsin.
