During a press conference on Tuesday morning, Speaker John Boehner was asked by a reporter asked if he had a message to the 800,000 federal workers who are now out of work as a result of the Republican shutdown of the federal government. In response to the question, Speaker Boehner said, “The House has voted to keep the government open. But we also want basic fairness for all Americans under Obamacare.”
Asked a second time by the same reporter if he had a specific message for the 800,000 furloughed federal workers, Speakler Boehner promptly left the podium without uttering another word.
Watch for yourself.
Thanks Zach.

Stop calling it a furlough, shutdown, leave of absence, whatever… it’s an employer lockout of almost 1 million public workers.
But what about that chained CPI, John?
Did you notice that the entire extortion scheme was trap-setting rather than negotiation? Where the closest approximation to “negotiation” might be a particularly hostile bargaining dispute between union and anti-union management? In other words, a “bargain” with a single non-negotiable pre-determined outcome with one big winner and one big loser.
You wouldn’t consider calling out Boehner for lying in this video would you?
Or maybe you could go on about chained CPI and all those things you want that Dems aren’t giving you.
Forget about Boehner, give us another post on chained CPI.
John, isn’t this similar to the WalMart “shutdown” which limits hours of permanent employees?
What next; will Senator Crud demand elimination of health insurance of Federal Employees because they are part time employees?
“Oh, the humanity!”
It’s reassuring to know that Speaker Boehner is in our corner (facepalm).
Here’s Boehner’s op:ed. Tell me again about that brilliant FDL poison pill theory.

On second thought… no need to reiterate puerile and unsophisticated crap-analysis from FDL. Instead, elaborate on the chained CPI and the payroll tax.
The chained CPI and the Payroll Tax

Oops. I didn’t address that last comment. It’s addressed to you, John Casper.
Anyone willing to bet that his very next action after his prompt exit was to take a swig of something? Sounds like the GOP were pretty smashed while casting their votes the other night.
